UK and Vietnam open up defense dialogue
Between 27 November and 1 December 2018, held discussions on defense policy for the first time. It highlighted the ongoing activity on the defense aspect of ties between the two countries.
Vietnam’s defense ministry stated that both sides discussed various aspects of defense where collaboration was ongoing, such as peacekeeping, training, and the defense industry, as well as wider regional and international issues. There was also a signing of a document on cooperation in geospace between the two countries.
The meeting between the two countries was co-chaired between Vietnam Deputy Defense Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh and Minister of State for Defense Earl Howe.
